What Is Going On In Our Homes?

by | May 28, 2020

We passed our 60th day of lockdown and I continue to hear about friends going through difficult times in their homes. Not just about the finances but emotionally. Many relationships are suddenly taking severe strain. Why?

I woke up at 01:00 and came to my study crying out to God “What is going on in our homes Lord?”

I heard the Holy Spirit say – read Galatians 5

“If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.” (verse 15)

I have never ‘seen’ this verse before and it’s true! Why are we busy destroying each other? Could it be the stress of lockdown? Could it be due to financial stress? Could it be the uncertainty and having to adhere to strange and senseless regulations that change from day to day? Could it be a loss of a job or an uncertain future? What is wrong Lord? What is going on in our homes?

I believe that we have given Satan permission to enter our homes through the door of FEAR. Yes, through the door of FEAR and the result? “….hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissension (disagreement) factions…” Galatians 5:20

I realized that I have to break Satan’s stronghold on my home in Jesus name and once again declare Jesus Christ as King of my life and of my home. Satan has no right to my marriage, my family, my company, my school, my finances or my future and I break this spirit of fear in Jesus name.

I prayed for the fruit of the Spirit to again take its rightful place in my home, “…love, joy, peace, forbearance (restraint) kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” Galatians 5:22

Pray with me dear reader “Lord, I am breaking Satan’s stronghold over my home in Jesus name. I declare you Lord Jesus King and Ruler of my home – forgive me for letting Satan in through the door of fear. I shut and bolt that door now with your help Lord and in the days to come let me not think I am something when I am not. Please restore the fruit of the Spirit to me and my household as I ask this in Jesus name. Amen.“

Thank you. So relevant. I’m on the ground with law enforcement and people are turning on each other. Taking sides and fighting over stupid things. Trials bring out the worst in people.

Thank you Nico. As as we know the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking whom he my devour. And fear is easy to come in as the roaring lion.

Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm_x000D_
Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Hear Me saying Peace, be still to your restless heart. No matter what happens, I will never leave you or forsake you. Let this assurance soak into your mind and heart, until you overflow with Joy. Though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, you need not fear!

Thank you Nico, this means a lot me. It is so true… fear is debilitating and used by Satan to make us doubt the promises and loving presence of our Lord Jesus. I recently searched the phrase: “Do not fear…” in the Bible. And this command is given 82 times, even more than the command to love!

Great blog Nico. Good to be reminded that the Kingdom Of God is fueled by love and not fear. As light overwhelms darkness, in the same way love drives out fear. _x000D_

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”_x000D_

Goeie stuk. Sit nog by: teleurstellings. Rou oor wat was en mie meer is nie. Afsondering werk soos ‘n vergrootglas.
