There are times that I feel overwhelmed. Amidst my normal duties and day-to-day challenges (fluctuating exchange rates; our country’s political games; staff issues; economic uncertainty and many of my friends’ health problems) I also have the responsibility of looking after a number of construction projects we are currently busy with. Endless problems with at times less competent civil servants that obstruct our progress to get the necessary rights and approvals. Add to this the financing of the projects and the pressure to finish everything on time while a host of unforeseen issues keep on popping up and costs just continue to escalate. At times, the challenges feel never ending and overwhelming.
This is a time of stress, pressure and discouragement. In fact, everything is just too much.
While having my time of prayer, I felt I had to read James 2. The first part is about giving favour to the rich. This is now the second time in as many days the Holy Spirit guided me to this scripture. James 2:4 says that “.…judging a man by his wealth shows that you are guided by the wrong motives. V 12 “You will be judged on whether you are doing what Christ wants you to. So watch what you do and what you think.” What does this mean Lord? What are You saying to me Lord?
Yes, I am wondering who can help us with all the projects….and I already have a few names in mind! Am I now taking my eyes off the Lord and looking at people to help me? Am I now not following my own belief (and previous blogs) by wanting to cry in the ears of friends due to all the pressure rather in the ear of the Lord?
I started reading my Daily Devotional books (30 Oct) and saw God’s amazing answer to my call for help…
God Calling – Place all in My hands – seek no other aid. WAIT!
Today God is First – FEAR NOT! Complete trust in God. These battles are training grounds for bigger victories to come.
Jesus Calling – I am with you.
My Utmost – FAITH!! – must be tested and tried before it becomes real in your life.
A clear message confirmed by each devotional that I needed to WAIT for God to act. That I needed to stop fearing for the worst because JESUS IS WITH ME and while I put all in His hands, have FAITH that God will help me…as He has done in the past.
In faith we are busy completing project by project. The pump track at Eduplex – one of the biggest inner-city pump and mountain bike skills development track in the world which was introduced to the press and friends on 25 Nov. All praise and glory to you our Lord! Look at : https://www.facebook.com/claudio.caluori/videos/688892137945028/
“…for I am trusting You. Show me where to walk. For my prayer is sincere…help me to do Your will, for You are my God. Lead me in good paths, for your Spirit is good.” Ps 143:8-10
There are many examples of God bringing major upheaval in the lives of those He called for His purpose. Why? The reason is that we do not seek God with a whole heart in times of prosperity and comfort. Prosperity and comfort tend to breed complacency and satisfaction. It is rare to find the man or women who seeks God with a whole heart who does so simply from a grateful heart. We often must have pain or crisis to motivate us. (Os Hillman Today God is First vol 1, 29 Nov.)
My primary concern today should be my relationship with Jesus – not my own responsibilities.
May God bless you richly this Christmas season as He shows you what is truly important.
Ek lees graag jou blog-inskrywings…dit is so rou eerlik en opreg. Ons verdwaal almal maar te dikwels op die afdraaipaaie…maar ons God is getrou en kan nie wag om ons te seën nie.
You are so blessed. God has touched your life in such an amazing way. May He bless you more as you continue to walk with Him in obedience and faith
Thank you for awesome encouragement throughout the year from your blog Nico!

To wait is difficult. Thank you for this great reminder!
Thank you so much. This is so true in my life.
I must allow God to react and trust Him.
I am always inspired and amazed at how well you express your faith in God, and the trust you have in Him. Thank you for these constant reminders.
How great is our God. How great is His Name! The angels bow before Him. Heaven and earth adores Him. What a Mighty God we serve.
I have been reading a book 66 Love Letters of God. This morning I read 3x WAIT.
I have been waiting 40 years for my husband to come to salvation. Lord I will WAIT.
Your timing is perfect!!!
Amen, Brother!
We really do tend to become complacent when things are going well.
I commit to continuously pray for you, your family, for grace and favour as you face the myriads of challenges.
Amen. God is speaking to me about not forgetting my First Love. Your first love is the purest, uncontaminated, all forgiving, all trusting and unconditional form of love, regardless of loving twenty times thereafter. God reminded me of this fact, that we will always be His first love and so we need to love and trust Him as being a God that is always pure, not contaminated by circumstances or world views, all forgiving, ever trustworthy and His love and providence is unconditional towards us. Be Blessed.
